Our Donor Options - We Need Your Help!

Most of our programs are provided free of charge and we need your help to keep empowering our next generation of heroes!

No Hero Left Behind!

Your tax-deductible gifts enable us to get books and reading programs to economically disadvantaged school  children, while fostering our next generation of leaders and activists.

We need your help to continue empowering Austin’s youth and spreading a love of literacy. COVID has hit our organization hard, but we’re doing everything we can to keep serving our community, and meeting children where they are in a challenging time of online learning. Please consider joining our heroes and supporting this critical work, and feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions, or if you’re interested in partnering, sponsoring our programming, or volunteering your expertise to help the organization.

How can you help support childhood literacy?

We are a 501(c)(3) and our tax-deductible gifts enable us to get books and reading programs to economically disadvantaged school children, while fostering our next generation of leaders and activists.

It costs over $619,000 a year to fund our budget and 89% goes straight into our outreach programs.

A Note From Our Founder and Director

Our program has grown organically, driven by what the children in our community wanted.

It all started with reading performances on Friday nights in our local bookstore, to a year-round book talk program in schools throughout our community, to a full-fledged summer camp that sold out in a day. Young people in our community have sought out and inspired each new development we’ve made.

“I’m so lucky to be a storyteller here in Austin. I get to recreate characters and entire worlds of magic for our campers and students to play in, negotiate difficult topics with, learn, and explore. Fantastical situations and settings can create the safest places to explore our self worth, solve problems cooperatively, and build confidence in our ability to speak truth to power.

Between the Pages has a focus on bringing diverse stories for our community to play in and learn through. I am excited to champion this next phase of growth for our programs, and for these children.”

We are well into building out our expanded model, while still serving our commitments in our communities’ school, but we need your help.

COVID hit our non-profit hard. Harder than we could have ever imagined. Many of our Campers did not make the jump online with us this summer, and a good portion of our annual income went to refunding their tuitions. We chose the path of kindness and issued refunds knowing our community depended on that money as a means to survive.

We supported our families in their time of need—both in resources and presence.

Now we need your support.

We need your help to bridge the current gap in our income  so we can continue our community outreach efforts, especially our in school Narrative Threads program. Please consider joining our team of heroes  supporting this pivotal next step!
